Japan by manufacturers Toho, Matsuno and
Miyuki.
As our focus is needlework, some of the bead finishes may be
too fragile for other uses including jewelry-making– galvanized
finishes may rub off with repeated wear and dyed colors may fade if
exposed to strong sunlight. Since most needlework projects receive
careful treatment, the delicacy of some bead finishes are not usually a
matter of concern for stitchers. Please contact us if you have any

BEAD FINISH ABBREVIATIONS & DESCRIPTIONS: TR– transparent......C/L– color lined (an opaque color inside a transparent outer layer)......S/L– silver lined (a mirror-like lining inside a transparent outer layer that creates a glittery effect)......Irid.– iridescent or rainbow finish......Alabaster– semi frost finish......Opaque– solid color with a low luster finish......Pearl– lustrous finish over a solid or TR color......Matte– dull or antique finish......Hex-cut– six facets cut into sides of each bead, giving a sparkling effect...
